  • How To Spend Less Time Freaking Out And More Time Getting Shit Done

How To Spend Less Time Freaking Out And More Time Getting Shit Done

    You’ve got big goals girlfriend.

Luscious, juicy PHAT goals that excite and freak you out at the same time.

I want you to stop right now, take a deep breath and think about why you need/want to do this. Is it because you want to, or is it the ‘right’ logical thing to do? Once you decide that it’s definitely something that will move you forward, here is what I suggest you do.

    1. Suck It Up Princess

One of my favourite mantras when I’m getting too caught up in the problem, rather than solution. In fact that was my mantra for 2011 and I sure got shit done that year lol It was the year of my sparkly re-birth (that’s another blog post)

Seriously though, it’s about less thinking and just doing. You’ve heard of the saying paralysis by analysis, which means that you’re creating a bottomless pit of perfectionism which only creates more second guessing if what you’re writing/doing/thinking is correct before you ACTUALLY take action.

Think of this way, the more the ‘think’ the less you’re ‘doing’ which is going to bring even less of anything that’s even close to creating the business you actually want to create.

    2. Why Do You Want To Do This Particular Thing?

Ask yourself how  this fits into the big picture of your biz-life. Is it a stepping stone to creating your master piece, or is it a distraction disguised as the only way to move forward. All too often BSO’s come to us disguised as the next essential step, but they’re merely a diversion because of the fear of listening to intuition, and actually following your bliss.

Get clear on your intention for doing this thing. If it resonates for you, run with it gorgeous and if it doesn’t then run far far away from it.

    3. Break It Down To Breakthrough It

For long term goals like releasing your new program, building your list or any other ‘long term’ goal, then you need to chunk it down.

    What’s the end result?

    Work it back from there.

What’s one step you can do right now that’s going to take you forward and move you closer to the end goal.

Let’s use the example of building your list.

To do this, you need to sweeten the deal for your subscribers to want to hear from you. In order to do this, they want to know that you have something valuable for them to hear.
What do you think your peeps need to hear right now that you could whip up into a report, ebook or video?

Once again, it doesn’t have to take you hours on end, or look like a glossy magazine. Intention is the secret ingredient here, so think about why you’re creating this particular piece ie you want to get your message out to more people. Bless it with love (my fave) and then follow it with the practical steps which would look something like this:

    1. Write/film/record your giveaway
    2. Edit/beautify your little gem
    3. Create a landing page for peeps to sign up to.

And voila, you’ve set the wheels in motion – the momentum has begun

    4. Just Freaking Do It

    Hustle. Hustle. Hustle

    Need I say anymore?

Read This When You Feel Like A Round Peg Trying To Fit Into A Square Hole. Here’s One Thing You Need To Always Understand To Keep You Sane.

I expected magic when I attended Alex Franzen’s Writing Workshop in Sydney, but I could never imagine the depth of this loving explosion. So many loose floaty bits of myself re-grouping & cementing together.

Love is the essence of who I am, and it’s ALWAYS the answer to everything.

But somewhere along the way, I got caught up in the ‘real world’ and listened to others when they told me that to see things through the eyes of love all the time, is somewhat naive.

I bought into the fact that I had to choose to:

    • Be an extrovert or introvert.
    • Have a favourite colour all my life.
    • Be passionate about one thing forever.
    • Follow a particular faith.
    • Lock myself into a particular way of eating ie Vegan, Paleo, Vegetarian.
    • Either be all woo woo or badass.
    • Be prim and proper or a rebel.
    • Follow someone who has done what you want to do and mimic your way to success.

    Etc etc etc

Here’s the thing, I don’t want to see ANYBODY like me, and as much as imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, you don’t want to see anybody like you, right?

Oscillating between two worlds looking for a place to fit, while trying to chop, shave down and squeeze yourself into a mould that is just a few breaths short of literally feeling choked.

    As the song goes, I’m a bitch, I’m a lover, I’m a child, I’m a mother, I’m a sinner, I’m a saint.

Guess what gorgeous, you’re all of the above too and that’s ok. Marketers talk about polarising your market, but it has to be done authentically and in a way that feels like your life looks pretty much like what you show the public.

I haven’t always been this transparent. I’m a Virgo which is Perfectionism at it’s finest, so this means 5 years ago I wouldn’t be caught dead looking less than ‘perfect’. Not only is it hard to maintain this facade, it’s also soul destroying when you’re looking so glam while dying on the inside.

A slow painful death with every dot of foundation masking your pretty face from the world, every stroke of mascara beautifying your lashes and with every particle of blush to prettify you.

Now don’t get me wrong I LOVE makeup (I can spend a whole day JUST makeup shopping) and looking glam – in fact it’s a strong part of who I am. The difference now though, is that it doesn’t define me.

Let me make this even clearer, looking good IS essential to feeling great but the difference is that it enhances how you feel, and will uplift when you’re in a funk, but it’s not a pre-requisite to feeling whole and complete.

I used to think that being consistent and solid was the key to success, but I interpreted it incorrectly. I took it to mean that I had to be consistent in my ‘persona’ and I had to always respond/think/act in a certain way according to the standard that I had set for myself.

Now here’s the difference, I still respond/think/act according to my base principles, but the response is no longer defined by what I think others want to see/hear. Sounds small, but it’s a polar difference when you delve into this little nugget.

Think about the last 5 decisions you made.

They could be responses or actions such as posting your thoughts on FB, or releasing a new program or even what to cook for dinner. The point that I’m getting to, is an awareness of how many choices are made while you’re in auto-pilot mode, based on conditioning or the need to keep the peace or even worse feeling apathetic without even realizing.

It’s time to reclaim your power girlfriend.

I want you to realize that it’s time to glue back together the fragmented pieces you tried to cut off. You can’t saw them off sweetheart, they’ll just grow back and come back roaring to be heard.

I was blessed to meet some fricken wonderful women in Alex’s workshop, and what really hit home for me was that they showed me that love IS possible while being successful academically or financially.

Here I was surrounded by this sisterhood of amazing women – Doctors, Human Rights Lawyers, and soooo many game changers who are spreading their own kind of magic. What dawned on me was that like Alex, these women are ALL successful in their own right and yet possess the same ‘woo-woo’ qualities as I did.

    somewhere along the way

There is a place for us both dear friend. I’m with you every step of the way.

    So I boldly declare that:

    • I will no longer box or label myself into anything.
    • I’m an ambivert – I’m an extroverted introvert for the most part and an introverted extroverted the rest of the time.
    • I’m multi-passionate – I love lotsa things. I have 3 different biz that excite me in different ways.
    • My colour preferences will constantly change and that’s ok – Pink will always be #1 for me with Turquoise right behind.(Orange is pushing my buttons atm 🙂
    • I’m not vegan or raw 100% and that’s ok – I eat seafood, and ONLY organic grassfed beef IF I ever eat meat.
    • I don’t eat sugar, dairy or wheat – nuff said.
    • I can only lead from who I am – I am who I am.
    • I can only teach what I have lived, not what I’ve learned – AMEN!

Where are you limiting or blocking yourself from being ALL that you are gorgeous?

To truly love yourself isn’t all just woo woo shit where all you need to do is focus on what you want to be/do/act like. It’s also about accepting the light and the dark within to shine your beautiful light on the parts of you that need some fine-tuning, appreciate what resonates for you and most importantly love both sides of you equally.

When all else fails, you can’t find clarity, belonging, hope or connection. I want you to always remember that love is always the answer – ALWAYS.

[pullquote width=”300″ float=”left”]What are you going to finally accept about yourself gorgeous? I’d love to hear your beautiful, bold self-accepting declaration below.[/pullquote]

  • How To Know If You’re Evolving Or Caught Up In Bright Shiny Object World

I caught up with friends that I haven’t seen in 7 years a couple of weeks ago, and it was a truly blissful catchup. There was no actual problem for this separation, it was purely a case of both sides getting caught up in this whirlwind of life as we know – or was it?!

It’s rehashed a myriad of old emotions because I haven’t been in that space for so long, as well as given me a fresh perspective on so many issues which have already been internally resolved.

On the surface I wasn’t a good friend, I never wanted to hang out, sit around and chat or make the effort really.

Was I doing this to be a bitch?

    Absolutely not.

    Did I do it intentionally?

    No way.

I simply wasn’t happy, and didn’t know how to relay this information to anybody, and so it showed up as inconsistentcy in my life.

Being this inconsistent has held me back from more than not being a great friend, it’s stunted my financial and personal life goals.

As I’ve shared before, I did so much chopping and changing that I’m now wary of making ANY changes, because of past experience. It dawned on me yesterday that the key here is deciphering the difference between whether up-levelling and procrastination, which includes waiting for the next thing to save you.

I can now clearly see how a BSO can disguise it self behind evolving and moving forward, but what if you aren’t ready to make that leap?

    Think about that.

It’s like a Med Student wanting to be a surgeon while he’s still studying – most times you need to allow the learning’s to take place while YOU consistently take daily steps to reach your goal.

This is not about getting to the finish race the fastest, but at the same time it’s not about hiding behind your evolution journey or waiting to feel inspired. So you see there is a fine line between the two.

Evolution feels like a natural progression, perhaps a step or two forward – not 10 steps. If 10 steps feels great for you, then go for it. I just know that in my experience, when you jump to high up to the next level it’s not sustainable and so it ends up being a case of 10 steps forward and 11 steps back.

BSO on the other hand, feels like desperation disguised as inspiration. You feel elated, super excited and like THIS is the answer to your prayers.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news honey, but it just ain’t gonna happen like that. I’m all for visualizing what you want and living in the space of believing + action, but once again slow and steady wins the race.

If you want to earn $100k and you’re currently making $5k, then why not make your goal $20k or $50k? Write down your $100k goal but break that down into smaller chunks so that could be to make $20k in the next few months.

Break that down even further, by writing down how many sales you need to make and what sort of action needs to happen to get there.

    BSO Warning Bells

When you’re in a space of fear and trying to move up, you’re desperate to see results, which creates a neediness that keeps it all at bay

Thinking you can skip the process by moving forward without ticking off the boxes as you go, without earning your way – because the quick way is better right? Your mind usually just can’t catch up that quickly sweets.

Not seeing something through won’t allow you to truly guage what you need, and it’s going to be a constant uphill battle.

I’m the expert at BSOS (Bright Shiny Object Syndrome) and I’ve got the battle scars to prove it.

    Effortless Flow

Evolving still feels scary but it’s an inner knowing that FEELS right. It shows up in the form of inspired ideas, but the difference is that it’s coming from a place of expansion – not neediness.

It offers just the right mix of excitement-fear layered upon a deep sense of knowing and trust. There is clarity and stillness – rather than a flurry of activity – a peak of action with no consistency.

Some things that help me stay on track.

Take time out every morning to write in your journal.

As cliched as this sounds, it’s helped me in more ways than I can even explain. When I’m overwhelmed and going into that fear-space, I see a clearer perspective on my ‘why’ for the change. I also get great ideas that are going to ‘actually’ bring me to my next goal.

    Narrow your Offerings

Focus on a 1-2 things max to start with – ideally 1. When I narrowed my focus down from 5 things to 1, not only was everything so much clearer, but I had cleared space mentally + energetically for new ideas about how to market my product – as opposed to new ideas to create and move me away from from I was doing.

    A Voice Of Reason

Talk to your Husband, Coach, or Friend about what you’re doing and how you plan on doing it. When I want to go and spend money on a new program or change direction, I run it by my husband & Coach. Not because they need to make the decisions for me, but because they aren’t as attached to my business and see it purely from a practical and logical perspective.

Oh the years I have wasted searching for that magic bullet.

    Newsflash: It doesn’t exist!

Steady, consistent action always trumps steroid induced wins.

What are you going to laser focus on for the next month? Declare it below.

  • Stop Pretending + Start Creating

    Stop Pretending + Start Creating

    Stop-pretending-720x500-for-blog

    Divorced. Detached. Disconnected

Three words that are probably the most antagonistic words to describe what was once something sacred.

When a relationship reaches this stage, it usually takes a fair bit of heartache to get to this point.

I reached this breaking point recently. I had enough of feeling alone, and void of emotion. Something just had to give, the pain and isolation of not being able to communicate and resolve the issue had taken it’s toll.

What was I going to do?

You’re probably thinking I’m talking about marriage or relationship of the physical kind.

    Nope.

I’m talking about when your souls purpose doesn’t align with what you’re actually doing.

That kind of disconnect cuts deeper than any external relationship. I walked around for years, not really aware of how deep the divide actually went.

It kinda creeps up on you.

In fact I loved feeling so detached from the emotions of youth.

How liberating to be free of the emotional rollercoaster ride of my twenties. Isn’t this what being all grown up means?

Letting go of the silly stuff and not letting things bother us, right?

Well kinda sorta. I’m pretty laid back by nature.

What I mean by that is that I don’t do drama or gossip so anything that remotely resembles this, instantly takes me to zone out world. This leaves me with the challenge of working out what is worthwhile delving into and what is just water off a ducks back.

So here I found myself lonely, bored and dispirited, craving something deeper. Looking from the outside in, my life has never been better – business is going great guns.

It dawned on me  that only I could change this horrid situation. And after many intuitive nudges, it was now time  to peel away that last, thick, stubborn layer that I have used as my protection for years.

I realize that I no longer need it.

    IT needs ME!

The ego needs to feel important, busy, strong and all-knowing. But spirit aahhh now that’s another story.

I asked for guidance and now I was receiving. It’s feels like I am re-connecting with a long lost friend. Someone who has been here all along that I have neglected.

I’m not going all woowoo on you now but as a Zen Hustler, spirituality is an important part of how I run my life and build my business.

Whilst I believe in the basics of LOA (Law Of Attraction) I also strongly believe in taking action ie Hustling. Combine the two together and THIS my friend is a powerful combo.

One doesn’t work without the other, much like willing money to fall down from the sky won’t work unless you’re doing something about it.

On the flip side, if you are taking action, but you really don’t believe deep down that you can actually do it – then you probably won’t.

I am persistent, and devoted to my passion and that is to help women find their voice and create a soulful authentic business with their own flavour.

This is what pushes me to delve deeper. How can I lead this gorgeous tribe of women who have so much to offer the world if I can’t dig deep and show them that regardless of how fragmented they feel, it’s not forever.

For a go getter like me, I have had to make time to just. be. I got so caught up in the doing, that I forgot about the being.

Busy busy busy does not equal productivity.

Being vulnerable doesn’t mean your weak.

Speaking your truth doesn’t make you a bitch.

Have a think about why you’re not feeling that wholeness.

Where are you holding back gorgeous?

If you’d like some help with
