  • The Hustle + Flow Battle

    The Hustle + Flow Battle

    Battle between hustle + flow

Once upon a time there was a huge battle between Hustlers and Feminine/spiritual peeps. Both sides thought they were right, and you were only allowed to pick ONE side.

I struggled for years with this because I love BOTH sides, and had no clear idea about how to integrate the two together. It was all or nothing in my mind, so I kept dancing between both worlds.

Until it dawned on me that I was following what I was seeing, rather than marching to the beat of my own drum.

Who said I can’t be a hustler, feminine AND spiritual? Yeah that’s right, I mean being woo-woo and a badass.
The only person who controls what you create is YOU, whether it’s conscious or so innate that we don’t even realize. Where else are you giving up your personal power to conform and fit in? I remember being in that position and it fricken sucks big time. It’s always a journey and I’m still evolving and sharing my message as I go along, but the difference is I’m doing it from a place of feeling empowered like I can create anything I want just because I declared it to be MY truth.

I mistakenly thought feminine meant softly spoken and I guess almost submissive. If truth be told I also felt being spiritual meant that ‘negative’ emotions like anger, sadness or fear meant that I wasn’t evolved. The difference between now and then, is that I not only OWN my feelings (rather than stuff them away), but I’ve learned how to channel them to create a positive outcome.

What’s super important for me is to ensure I’m honouring all aspects of my life, in order to hustle in flow.

    Filling my spiritual cup daily:

    • Journaling
    • Meditation
    • Moon Mapping
    • Chakra Balancing
    • Crystals
    • Essential Oils
    Fuelling my creativity daily by:

    • Writing
    • Reading
    • Connecting with awesome peeps
    • Quiet moments
    • Journaling
    • Drawing (just doodles with colourful stationary)

    Building my hustle (physical/mental) stamina:

    • Sleeping/waking early
    • Eating foods that nourish my body (avoiding gluten, dairy, sugar)
    • Getting out of my own way
    • Stop looking at what others are doing and my OWN thing
I want it all and I’m claiming it now.

Hustling in flow is about honouring your internal life cycles, as well as following ancient wisdom principles which give you the fuel you need to hustle like a Mofo. It’s about taking action even when you don’t feel like it because you’re devoted to your intention. It’s definitely NOT about sitting back and waiting for things to happen when they’re meant to happen!

It’s time to light up the world by leading your peeps, while being a kick-ass powerhouse feminine warrior.

This is what Melinda had to say about The Lunar Business Success System:

“I’ve found Monique’s Lunar Success System to be an easy yet powerful system that keeps me on track with my business goals. Monique talks about hustle and flow which makes a lot of sense to me in this fast-paced digital world where everyone seems to be talking constantly about taking action.

What I love most about Monique’s system is that it allows to you tap in to the natural energy of the moon to really leverage those peak hustle times and get things done but also to allow yourself the space to reflect, receive and celebrate what you’ve achieved in the month.

It’s a lot of fun creating different rituals at various stages of the lunar cycle and I’ve really enjoyed applying this system in my business and in my life.”

  • How To Get Your Hustle Groove Back After A Break

How To Get Your Hustle Groove Back After A Break

    Hustle Groove

I always love this time of the year, not because I can’t wait to step away from my business but because my little girl is home on school holidays.

It’s also a time for reflecting on the year that was and planning for the year that’s coming.

Having time off can surprisingly play around with your daily flow because creativity needs consistency in order to evolve and grow to new levels.

Just like you start off with baby steps and progress to maturity, so too does the quality of your creative output.

I’ve been mulling over this very blog all day, and what would normally take me an hour or so to write has just dragged on. Being on client calls today has charged me up, and I’m ready to tackle this now.

I chose to have less time off this year, while focusing on the planning side because this year is about focused action-taking, rather than last minute decisions. As I’ve mentioned before, fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants FEELS great but it’s not conducive to a sustainable business that keeps you excited in the long run.

I’ve been watching a bunch of inspiring videos ranging from spiritual to organising tutorials, which have helped get me out of my own head space and back into the blissful space of creating, leading and being a Zen Hustling Boss Lady.

Whilst I normally love to read, I found that videos/audios allow me to be able to relax and absorb more of what is being said, especially when my brain is still in holiday mode lol

Here are 5 things I’ve done/am doing to get my hustle groove back awnn.

Ignore The Multi-Tasking Urge To ‘Catch-up’

Been there. Done it REALLY well, and bought the postcard, t-shirt, mug & mouse pad to prove it 🙂

Coming back from a break can be really overwhelming. Between holiday-brain and picking up the tasks put off until ‘after I get back’ – it can feel like D-Day. Trying to do 5 things at once, isn’t going to solve the problem, because the brain goes into overload and, which basically means you’ll be worse off than when you started.

Create a schedule of what you’re going to do daily, and do ONE thing at a time. Having a plan of action takes away the overwhelm, while allowing you to literally tick things off your list which ALWAYS creates a sense of accomplishment.

    Re-Introduce Routine

Whenever I have time off I find it hard to remember the simplest of things. Think about what you did on a daily basis before your break. Maybe you woke up at a set time everyday, or worked out first thing in the morning or booked in clients for a certain day. Whatever you did regularly pre-break in your business, at home or socially – find that zone again and it’ll help ease you back in the flow.

    Gradually Wake Up Earlier

The best part about holidays is sleeping and waking whenever you feel like it. Sure you CAN still do that when you’re working, but your body needs to be nurtured & fuelled to deliver the output required to blend biz + life. Start gradually waking up earlier by setting your alarm clock back in 15 minute increments every other day. You may even like to do this weekly with 30 minute increments. Slow and steady wins the race here, so it’s not about waking up at your regular time as soon as your break is over.

    Declutter/Organize

Another great reason for taking a break and feeling refreshed, is to get rid of anything that’s not serving you or makes you feel uncomfortable. The main part of our house is the living/dining room and there is an extra desk with a computer for my little girl which suddenly became a dumping ground. Just looking at it everyday made me feel overwhelmed and clouded. I also have a big winter rug which I FINALLY rolled up and packed away. Just this alone has allowed me to mentally feel spacious and abundant, ready to kick-it! Be sure to also clear your desk to create a workspace which allows your creative hustle to flow.

    Create A Groovy Music List

Music is super important to me, and always a starting point for anything going on in my life. From heart-break to elation, to writing, there’s always a soundtrack to suit the theme of the moment. I create music lists for working out, meditation, shower music, everyday music and the list goes on. Create a playlist in Youtube or iTunes and give it a name which can be as simple as Workout, Pump, Inspiring, Writing etc. At the end of the day you need to call it something that has meaning to you, with songs that get you in the zone. My list varies from Rock Steady Crew’s Uprock (a classic favourite hahaha) to All I Do Is Win by DJ Khaled. Find what suits you and get into the groove girlfriend.

  • 7 Things I’m Not Taking With Me Into 2016

7 Things I’m Not Taking With Me Into 2016

    LE_GlassStraw-176

I have to say that 2015 was a year of massive awakening for me.

Plenty of stop/starts, breaking through limiting beliefs, getting more real and vulnerable than ever before. But more importantly getting clear on my message and life purpose that my business allows me to share.

It’s a great time for reflection, about what’s worked and what hasn’t.

Here are 7 things I’m not taking with me into 2016.

    1. Over thinking

This has literally paralysed me at certain points in my life. The need to understand and plan down to the minutest detail just doesn’t serve me or my peeps.

I’ve missed out on many opportunities waiting for the ‘perfect’ moment, and that bloody well ain’t gonna happen AGAIN.

New Way: I only need to follow my gut. It’s always served me well, and I’m going to let it unleash in 2016.

    2. Not Being Vulnerable Enough

Last year I finally started cracking through the facade built up over decades. I only scratched the surface with vulnerability in business, so I’m looking forward to delving even deeper into this.

New Way: Keep it real, lead from who I am and share my message – not just the perfect show reel.

    3. Not Sharing My Message EVERY SINGLE DAY

Pretty self explanatory. This all goes back to over thinking.

Keep it simple and talk from the heart.

New Way: Share what’s in my heart regardless of how it’s going to make me look.

    4. Not Planning

I’ve been flying by the seat of my pants, and whilst I LOVE the feeling. It doesn’t serve me well in the long run.

New Way: I’ve already mapped out my offering for the new year, so I know I have a reference guide to go back to at any point.

    5. Limiting money beliefs

Chasing money yet deep down feeling like I didn’t deserve it.

New Way: I love money and money loves me. I serve, I deserve (thanks Denise DT)

    6. Not being present

I’ve missed out on so many signs, intuitions & never-to-be-repeated moments because I was distracted with doing 5 things at once.

New Way: I wish I could say that I’ll only focus on one thing at a time, but I know that’s not me. Instead I promise myself that I will be present during conversations and connecting with peeps. I’ll also ensure that for the most part I make a conscious effort to focus on doing one thing at a time.

    7. Inconsistency

Inconsistency has plagued me for years. I managed to finally get my groove back towards the end of the year – better late than never.

New Way: Do at LEAST one thing that moves me towards my yearly goal – everyday.

What are you leaving behind in 2015?

  • End Of Year Reflection For 2015

End Of Year Reflection For 2015

As important as it is to take action, it’s probably twice as important to reflect and take stock of where you’ve been, in order to get to where you need to go.

2015 has been a year of major breakthroughs, deep lows and great learnings.

What started off as rocky after losing my Sister In Law, has been a massive year of growth.

This was the year to deal with things stuffed away so deeply, that I didn’t even realize were there.

I’ve learned more about myself in the last few months, than in the past decade.

I’ve finally accepted things I was either in denial about, or chose to ignore.

Whatever no longer served me, was improved, refined or just wiped out. But I’m nowhere near finished, because I’m a work in progress.

This year was real, raw and honest.

I’ve acted SO out of character (in good AND bad ways), yet SO on point.

It’s been tiring, but the most exhilarating and alive I’ve felt in ages.

Clarity is such a sweet thang.

I can see my big picture vision, and whilst the exact process isn’t mapped out in great detail, I CAN see the next few steps.

I know that I have some awesome peeps to serve, and I’m working out how to best serve them.

I’m TRUSTING that all will be revealed.

I’m excited and scared, but SO FREAKING READY FOR THIS!

    To serve you.

    To keep you accountable.

To help you take action NOW.

To allow you to stay in flow while you create magic.

To keep things simple for you – yet powerful.

So you see this year was a really mixed bag.

One that turned out differently to how I had imagined when I asked for clarity.

I may have clarity, but let me tell you that the journey doesn’t end here.

I know that I will change, and so will you.

    Let’s embrace this change together.

    It’s time.

    Time to shine

Time to create the vision in your mind.

Time to do what you’ve been ‘meaning’ to do.

Be sure to take some time over the next week to reflect on your journey.

What did you do really well?

    What did you learn?

What will you take with you in 2016?

What do you need to let go of?

How will you apply your new learnings?

How will you your new way of being serve your peeps?

I’ll be taking some time off to do the the same.

Until 5th January, I’ll be offline planning for 2016, while closing off this year.(You’ll probably still receive emails from me though) 🙂

FYI I’m running a FREE 7 Day Mind:Body:Spirit Reset Challenge starting January 18th

I want to take this time to wish you a fabulous Christmas!

    I can’t wait to smash 2016 together

  • How I Finished 2015 Better Than It Started (And How You Can Too)

How I Finished 2015 Better Than It Started (And How You Can Too)

It’s been a brilliant year of growth for me.

What started out as one of the worst years of my life, after losing my Sister inlaw to cancer last year, has ended as one of the best!

What made it so damn good?

    Hhhmmmm

I guess I took action this year without even knowing what the big picture was going to look like – a big thing for a Virgo like me 🙂

I used to take so much time to meticulously plan something that would actually never get executed.

If only I knew then what I know now……

    action kicks planning’s butt!

But before all that action, I gave myself the gift of time to heal at the start of the year.

I deactivated my FB, got healthy and cut the crap out of my life which included food, people, habits + beliefs.

Here are the top 5 things that helped me go from apathetic couch potato to action taking Zen Hustler.

Share Your Message (Even If You Don’t Know What It Is)

After taking time out to regroup, I came back to my Business without a clear direction of what my message was.

I had changed so much since starting Zen Hustler, that I really didn’t know what I stood for anymore.

This made sharing my message quite difficult because I had a vision in my head & heart that I couldn’t express. Besides feeling frustrated, it was also doing nothing to grow my business.

So I started sharing thoughts, or tools I found and experimenting with offers.

I found the more I shared my thoughts, the clearer my message became to me and other peeps.

Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step – Martin Luther King

     Write Daily

As simplistic as it sounds, it’s super important to write something – even if it’s “I don’t know what to write”.

I’ve honestly written that over 20 times when nothing was coming to me during a writing sesh.

The more space you allow for creativity, the more it longs to work through you.

My heart kept longing to share a message, that my mind just couldn’t comprehend.

Writing is something I LOVE doing, but struggled with at the start because I couldn’t blend mind, heart & spirit.

The reason the triangle couldn’t come together was because there was no consistency with my writing.

Rather than ONLY writing when ‘feelings inspired’, I chose to include writing into my daily schedule.

This meant that whether I felt like it or not, I was going to write something.

    Respect Your Business

When I started to treat my business as it should be treated – a vessel to serve my life purpose, it responded back with kindness.

I used to work around my social schedule.

Now that doesn’t mean I no longer have time out for me, it’s quite the opposite really.

Start treating it like you would a job, by creating work hours.

I still have the morning time to myself before I start my day, and finish by school pickup. Some days there are after school activities so I have more time for fun (work).

The point being, create structure + boundaries for your day.

    Connect

My word for this year was connection.

I didn’t end up looking like I had planned, but I sure did connect.

The goal was to join an in-person women’s networking group, and for some reason it never felt like the right time.

In hindsight I understand that I was still healing from grief, and finding my voice again.

I trusted and still maintained that intention – even when I didn’t think I would ever get to start.

And then it happened, towards the end of the year I was able to connect with a bunch of awesome women through FB groups who I DID end up meeting in person.

This was definitely one of the highlights of my year, and contributed to ending the year on such a high.

Try to include some offline connections, particularly the peeps you actually interact with online.

Magic happens when you meet awesome peeps in person.

    Devotion

I’ve spoken about this in a previous blog post, but I need to mention it again.

I removed discipline from my life, and re-introduced devotion.

When you are devoted to something, discipline just comes naturally.

Connecting to my big why, which for me are: being able to pick/drop my Daughter from school, AND help women hustle + flow to create a biz filled with fun & freedom has helped me stay focused.

I’m devoted to changing women’s lives and giving my Daughter a better life with both having her Mum at home, as well as financial stability.

I choose devotion to my cause, rather than grinding to the discipline drum.
